SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference announced changes to the final week of the regular season men's basketball schedule, the league office announced on Thursday. With the league schedule frequently changed throughout the season due to COVID-19, the adjustments were made to give all 10 schools an opportunity to play a game on Thursday and another on Saturday during the final weekend.
Portland will still play at San Diego on Thursday, Feb. 25 at 6 p.m., but instead of visiting Loyola Marymount on Saturday, the Pilots will head to Santa Clara. Tip-off for Saturday's game at the Leavey Center will be 7 p.m. Both games next week will be aired on the WCC Network.
The WCC previously announced a new formula in consultation with
Ken Pomeroy that will use algorithms to create an adjusted win percentage. With the unbalanced schedules and different number of competitions among league institutions, this model will be used to determine seeding for the upcoming 2021 WCC Basketball Championships at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas March 4-9.
