EUGENE, Ore. – The Portland women's tennis team took the court for the first time this 2021 season and faced a tough test on the road against the Oregon Ducks. Oregon swept the match by a 7-0 margin to improve to 3-1 on the season.
The Pilots battled in doubles, but Oregon clinched with wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 positions. Freshman Rimona Rouf and sophomore Neli Sunjic were trailing 5-4 at No. 2 singles when the point was clinched.
The Ducks won all six singles matches in straight sets.
Portland will return to the Louisiana-Pacific Tennis Center to host the Eastern Washington Eagles on Sunday at 11 a.m. The home-opener will have live video and point-by-point scoring at PortlandPilots.com.
