SILVER LAKE, Wash. – The Portland women's rowing team competed Sunday morning at the Gonzaga Invitational, hosted at Silver Lake. Portland's two Varsity 8 boats finished in second place behind host Gonzaga in races that also included Seattle U and Pacific Lutheran.

UP's First Varsity 8 posted a time of 7:09.27 at the 2K course, while the Pilots' Second Varsity 8 crossed the finish line in a time of 7:31.97. Portland's Varsity 4 logged a time of 8:31.85.

"Our student-athletes did a good job of handling the uncertainties and changes thrown at them this weekend," Portland head coach Gulliver Scott said. "We're continuing to learn and develop, and we're excited for the second half of the season."

The Pilots will next host a dual meet against Seattle U on Saturday, April 17 at Vancouver Lake.
