SAN MATEO, Calif -- Seniors Jayde Harris and Noelani Helm garnered All-West Coast Conference Honorable Mention accolades following the conclusion of the 2022 volleyball regular season, announced the conference on Monday. Maui Robins was also awarded as a member of the All-WCC Freshman team.
Harris had a standout senior season, leading the team in kills (374), kills per set (3.46), points (428.5) and total attacks (1080). Harris earned a career-high 25 kills on two separate occasions. The first was against Gonzaga on Oct. 08 where she registered an attack percentage of .352. The second was against Santa Clara where she had a .362 attack percentage. The Murrieta native is highly ranked in multiple positions within the WCC, namely total attacks (first), attacks per set (third), kills per set (fifth) and points (fourth). Harris was also the first Pilot in history to win multiple WCC athlete of the week honors within the same season.
Helm had an excellent senior season, being possibly the Pilot's most well-rounded player. Helm is the team leader in reception percentage (1.000), total assists (771), assists per set (6.88) and sets played (112). Helm is also ranked second in digs (280) and digs per set (2.50), fourth in blocks, total kills (218), total points (478) and service aces (27), as well as fifth in kills (161) and kills per set (1.44). Additionally, Helm ranked first in the conference for triple-doubles (four) and sixth nationally in the same stat. The senior was the national leader in triple-doubles for several weeks, to boot. Helm earned a career high 58 assists against Gonzaga on Nov. 5, where she also recorded five kills, three block-assists, and 12 digs.
Robins has played in the second most sets of any player on the team, despite her status as a freshman. Her skill from an early point in her career carried her far within the ranks of both her team and the WCC. She ranks second on the team in kills (241), kills per set (2.21), points per set (2.60), and total attacks (681). She also ranks third in digs (222), digs per set (2.04) and fifth in service aces (21). Robins earned her current career-high 19 kills against Nevada on Aug. 26, where she recorded a .311 attack percentage on the day, as well as 10 digs.
All three of these athletes were also awarded joint All-Tournament honors at the Sacramento State Invitational earlier in the year, with Noelani receiving MVP status overall.
The three athletes contributed heavily to the Pilots' record of 10-19 and (3-15 WCC). This was the Pilot's best record since the 2019 season where they went 11-18 (3-15 WCC). Portland won both the Sacramento State Invitational, as well as the Portland North Marriott Invitational. This was the first time the Pilots had won two tournaments since 2018. With a relatively young roster, Portland will look to continue this momentum for years to come.
