SAN MATEO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference announced on Tuesday the WCC All-Academic Team for Women's Volleyball. For the Portland Pilots, Noelani Helm made the first team while Keilani Mumolo, Emma Swett and Grace Zilbert earned honorable mention.
At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic team for each WCC-sponsored sport. To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, while also being a significant contributor to their team.
For the First Team awards, all ten teams in the WCC were represented by at least one of their athletes. For the Pilots, senior Noelani Helm earned WCC Volleyball All-Academic First Team honors, one of only 17 women to do so. This was Helm's first time earning All-WCC First Team honors after receiving honorable mention honors last year. Helm is the first Pilot to win First Team honors since Elizabeth Reich in 2019.
On the court, Noelani had the best season of her career. The senior earned herself lifetime bests in nearly every stat, including assists (771), kills (161), digs (280) and blocks (52). She also held the top spot nationally in triple-doubles (4) for the majority of the season before ultimately finishing fourth overall. She earned tournament MVP at the Sacramento State Invitational and was instrumental in the Pilot's success throughout the season.
The Pilots finished their season off with an overall record of 10-19 and a WCC record of 3-15. This was their most successful season since 2019 when the team went 11-18 and 3-15 in the WCC. The team won two separate tournaments during the season, the Sacramento State Invitational and the Portland North Marriott Invitational. It was the first time since 2018 that the team had won two tournaments within the same season.
