PORTLAND, Ore. – Pilot basketball student-athletes Tyler Robertson and Rose Pflug have been named the U.S. Bank Student-Athletes of the Month for the month of February. It's the first time for both athletes garnering the honor.
Robertson dominated the month of February in all facets of the game. The Melbourne, Australia native posted averages 17.2 points, 6.0 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game, guiding the Pilots to a 6-3 record and helping them secure their best conference record since the 2014-15 season. He also shot 51.1% from the field, 48.1% from three-point range and 90.2% from the free-throw line.
Robertson also posted one of the most impressive stat lines in Pilot history, nabbing just the second triple-double in program history in a win over the LMU Lions. He scored 31 points with 11 rebounds and 11 assists while hitting five threes. He's the first Pilot to earn a triple-double against a Division I team.
Pflug was thrust into a starting role at the start of February after Haylee Andrews suffered a season-ending knee injury against No. 16 BYU. Pflug scored 13 points in that game and helped the Pilots secure the upset victory over the eventual WCC regular season champions.
Overall, Pflug put up 11.4 points and 3.5 assists per contest in the month of February on 44.7% shooting overall and 36.1% shooting from three. Prior to that, Pflug was averaging 4.8 points and 1.7 assists on 36.9% shooting overall and 20% shooting from three. She either matched or bested her career-high in scoring as a Pilot three times in February, scoring 16 against Santa Clara and Saint Mary's and 17 in the regular-season finale against Pepperdine.
