• This is the second year in a row the Pilots have swept the Tigers. Portland's 15-3 win in the opener was their biggest of the season by margin of victory and also the most runs they've scored since their 18-5 drubbing of the Tigers last season.
• This is Portland's best record through 38 games since the 2010 season.
• Trace Tammaro belted two home runs in the series finale, including a two-run shot that proved to be the game-winning runs. He batted .364 for the series with two homers and four RBI's
• Tammaro is the top batter for the Pilots this year with a slash line of .326/.579/.448 (BA/SLG/OBP). All of those averages are tops on the team. His six home runs is also tied for first on the team with Sam Brown and tied for ninth in the WCC.Â
• Brett Gillis was solid on the mound once again for Portland, going 6.2 innings with only two runs and five hits allowed (zero earned) and 10 strikeouts on Friday. It was his third game this year with 10 strikeouts or more.
• Brett's 1.58 ERA is second in the WCC and 13th nationally, and his seven wins are tied for first in the WCC and ninth nationally. He is also 14th in the nation and fourth in the WCC in strikeouts (84), fourth conference-wise in WHIP (1.07) and sixth in the conference in strikeouts per nine innings (12.06).
• Jake Tsukada was the best batter by average this weekend for the Pilots, batting .529 with four RBI's and a stolen base. He's the second Pilot batter besides Ben Patacsil to bat over .500 for a series.
• The Pilots are currently second in the WCC in walks (165) and ERA (3.86), third in WHIP (1.34) and fielding percentage (.975) and fourth in on-base percentage (.364).
• Among other notable individual rankings, Peter Allegro is tied for first in the WCC and 10th in the nation in saves (9). He had two this weekend, putting him at 12 for his career, good for fourth in program history.
• Sophomore Sam Brown and senior Eli Morse were both named to the All-WCC Preseason Team this season. The Pilots as a team were picked to finish sixth in the conference in the WCC Preseason Coaches Poll.
• The sixth-place ranking marks the first time since 2003 that the Pilots were slated to finish in the top six. It's the first time since the conference also expanded to 10 teams in 2013.
• The Pilots return 28 players while adding 10 newcomers from last year's squad, including seven players who earned All-WCC honors last year. Seven position starters return along with 11 total pitchers.

• Tsukada also tied the school record for hits in a games last season against Pacific with six. He is the first Pilot who played Division I baseball to do so.
• Holcroft batted an astounding .484 in a shortened 2020 season and was named a Collegiate Baseball Freshmen All-American.
• 2022 marks the seventh year at the helm for head coach Geoff Loomis.
