PORTLAND, Ore. – After another stellar week of results, the Portland Pilots men's soccer team is ranked in the latest TopDrawerSoccer Top 25 poll, slotting in at 19
th. It is the first time that they've been ranked this season.
The Pilots have been receiving votes in the most recent Top 25 polls from the United Soccer Coaches and were ranked 25
th in the last poll from TopDrawerSoccer last season. This is the first time the Pilots have been ranked during the regular season since the 2019 season.
Portland is 3-0-2 to start the season after a slew of impressive performances. This past week, the Pilots defeated the Seton Hall Pirates 3-1 and the UCLA Bruins 2-0. The Pirates were fresh off a win over the then No. 10 Oregon State Beavers while the Bruins were ranked 15
th by the United Soccer Coaches and sixth by TopDrawerSoccer. The Pilots also have a win over Cal Poly (5-0) and ties against Central Arkansas (2-2) and then No. 21 Indiana (3-3).
Statistically, the Pilots are one of the top teams in both the conference and the nation. They lead the WCC in points (48), goals (15), assists (18), scoring offense (3.00) and goal differential (9). In those categories, they rank second nationally in assists, ninth in total points and goals, 10
th in scoring offense and 16
th in goal differential. Individually, Brandon Cambridge, Sebastian Nava and Gurman Sangha are first, second and third in total points with 10, eight and seven respectively, Cambridge is first in goals with four (12
th nationally), Sangha is tied for first nationally and in the WCC with five assists and Nava is second in the WCC and seventh nationally with four assists.
