Box Score LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The Portland doubles team of Luka Vukovic and Nikolas Tvedt won their semifinals match on Sunday morning, but came up short in the following title match against a team from host USC to conclude the Southern California Intercollegiate Championships.

Vukovic and Tvedt knocked off Matthew Burton and Lachlan Robertson of Oregon by a 6-2 margin before falling to Samuel Rubell and Niroop Vallabhaneni, 6-3. The duo also defeated teams from Cal Poly and Rice en route to a runner-up finish.

"It was a tall ask to get three peat in the doubles title at the SoCal Intercollegiates, but we almost did it," Portland head coach Aaron Gross said. "A couple of points was the difference in the final. We took a step forward in our doubles play this weekend. It was good to see us going toe-to-toe with USC in the final, but just could not quite get over the hump."

Vukovic also made a run out of qualifying and into the Round of 16 in singles at the tournament.

The Pilots will conclude the 2023 fall season next weekend at the Gonzaga Invitational in Spokane, Wash.
