SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Portland men's tennis players Tannor Binder and Tom Garcia were named to the 2026 West Coast Conference All-Academic Team, while Nikola Keremedchiev and Stefan Skobelev garnered honorable mention recognition for the Pilots.
Binder has a 3.70 cumulative grade-point average as a business major. The junior from Beaverton, Ore. has posted a 15-12 overall singles record and 7-7 dual singles record this spring, including the match and WCC Tournament clinching win against Gonzaga on Saturday. He has also picked up nine wins in doubles this season.
Garcia is a business major with a 3.93 cumulative GPA. Playing primarily at No. 2 singles this Spring, he recorded nine overall singles wins and five in dual matches. He is also 13-11 overall in doubles, 8-8 in dual matches.
Keremedchiev carries a 3.42 cumulative GPA while majoring in business and playing at the top of the singles and doubles lineup. Skobelev is posting a 3.52 GPA also as a business major and has 14 singles wins, including nine in dual action.
The Pilots have qualified for the WCC Championships for the fifth consecutive season under head coach Aaron Gross. Portland is the No. 5 seed and faces fourth-seeded and No. 55-ranked LMU on Thursday at 9 a.m. in the opening round of the WCC Championships being held at Green Valley Country Club.
