SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- Three Portland Pilots have received All-WCC honors following the 2024 season, as announced on Monday, Dec. 2. Taina Kaauwai, Havannah Hoeft, and Maui Robins have been named for their outstanding performances.
Kaauwai, a standout player for the Pilots, earned a spot on the prestigious All-WCC First Team, marking a significant achievement for the program. Dominating on the court this season, she led the WCC in hitting percentage, ranking 33rd nationally. From the front row, Kaauwai proved to be a defensive powerhouse, leading the team with 114 blocks and securing 7th place in conference rankings. She also set a new career and school record for single-match blocks with an incredible 12. This honor makes Kaauwai the first Pilot since 2017 to be named to the First Team, highlighting her exceptional season and impact on the court.
Hoeft made an outstanding debut this season, earning honorable mention honors for her significant contributions to the Pilots' offense. She set a career-high on Aug. 30 with 61 assists—the most by a Pilot in a single match since 2018, earning her Freshman of the Week accolade earlier in the season. Demonstrating her versatility, she recorded 10 double-doubles, showcasing her impact on both offense and defense. With 924 total assists—the highest by a freshman in a single season since 2016—Hoeft secured a spot in the Pilots' Top 20 All-Time record book, capping an exceptional first year.
Robins made a remarkable impact on both offense and defense, earning an honorable mention. Robins kicked off the season by being named Offensive Player of the Week and showcased her versatility throughout the year. She proved to be an all-around player, appearing on the leaderboard across multiple categories. Robins led the team in kills (305) and service aces (32), ranked second in digs (266), third in blocks (56.0) and fourth in assists (34). She also placed ninth in the conference with 369 total points. Adding to her accolades, Robins reached an impressive milestone on Oct. 31, surpassing 1,000 career points, becoming the 22nd player in Pilots history to reach this milestone in just three years.
The Portland Pilots wrapped up the 2024 season with an overall record of 12-16, including a 5-13 performance in conference play. Notably, four of their victories were 3-set sweeps. \
