SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Pilot setter Havannah Hoeft has been named the West Coast Conference Setter of the Week, the league office announced Monday. The honor marks the Pilots' second WCC weekly award this season and the second of Hoeft's career.
Â
Hoeft fueled Portland's strong start to conference play, recording a match-high 19 assists in the sweep of Pacific before posting a season-best 45 assists and 11 digs in a five-set win over Saint Mary's. The performance notched her fourth double-double of the year and pushed her career total past 1,300 assists.
Â
A steady presence on both sides of the ball, Hoeft also ranks among the Pilots' top three in service aces and digs, while standing among the conference's top 3 setters this season.
Â
Portland opened WCC play 2-0 for the first time since 1991. The Pilots continue their homestand on Saturday, Oct. 4, hosting Seattle U at 1 p.m. (PST). The match will be streamed live on ESPN+, with live stats available at PortlandPilots.com.
