PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland Pilots Women's Basketball is going on tour! The 2024-25 squad is headed to Croatia and Greece as part of their first foreign tour in over 20 years. The tour will last from Aug. 12 through Aug. 22.
"We are very excited and grateful for this opportunity to travel abroad," Portland head coach Michael Meek said. "We would like to thank the generous donors that have graciously helped make this spectacular educational and basketball experience a reality. Our 2024-25 team appreciates everyone that has supported our program in this journey."
The team will spend nine days in Europe, spending time in various parts of Croatia before going to Greece to finish off the tour. During their time in Europe they will see all the sights that the Mediterranean has to offer along with playing three exhibition games. Those opponents have yet to be announced.
The Pilots just experienced another magical season. They qualified for the NCAA Tournament for the second year in a row, the seventh time ever and third time in five years after winning the 2024 WCC Tournament Championship, also their third in five seasons. The Pilots finished with a 21-13 record overall, winning 20-plus games for the third seasons in a row, a first for the program since 1997.
