IRVINE, Calif. -- Lucia Busso and Tinoa Woodward-Hart were named to the 2024 UCI/adidas Invitational All-Tournament Team.
Busso and Woodward-Hart delivered standout performances over the weekend. Busso was one of Pilots' leaders in kills and blocks, recording 29 kills and 15 blocks while hitting 0.359 in the tournament. Busso ranks fifth in the WCC in hitting percentage.
Woodward-Hart was instrumental in the Pilots' defense, recording 49 digs throughout the weekend. Leading the team in digs with 92, Woodward-Hart ranks third in the WCC.
The Portland Pilots had a strong showing at the UCI/adidas Invitational, finishing with a 2-1 record. They secured their first victory against Idaho State in a thrilling five-set match. The Pilots continued their success with another five-set win over Bradley, improving their record to 5-0— their best start since 2018. However, they faced a tough challenge against UC Irvine, taking an early two-set lead but ultimately losing in five sets. This tournament brought Portland's overall record to 5-1, marking the second time in three years the team has started with this record.
