SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Pilot senior Lucia Busso has been named WCC Offensive Player of the Week, as the conference announced on Monday afternoon. This is Busso's first career weekly honor and marks the Pilots' third WCC weekly award this season.

Busso turned in a standout offensive weekend for the Pilots, totaling 29 kills and 34 points across two matches while hitting an impressive .373 overall. She powered Portland's 3-0 sweep of LMU with a match-high 14 kills on .500 hitting (17 points), leading a balanced Pilot attack in the program's first win over the Lions since 2010. Busso followed with another strong performance against Gonzaga, tallying 15 kills and 17 points to once again pace the offense. Now in her best collegiate season yet, Busso has recorded 238 kills, her highest single-season total, and surpassed 600 career kills and 150 career blocks.

This week, the Pilots hit the road to face Seattle U on Thursday, Nov. 13, at 6 p.m. in Seattle, Wash. Portland then returns to the Chiles Center for their Senior Game on Saturday, Nov. 15, hosting San Diego at 1 p.m. Both matches will be streamed live on ESPN+, with live stats available at PortlandPilots.com.
