LAKE NATOMA, Calif. -- The Portland Pilots competed in the Sacramento State Invite on Saturday, highlighted by the third varsity eight taking first in their race. The varsity four took second in their race while the varsity eight, second varsity eight and novice eight all took third. 
 
The first race of the day was the varsity four, which the Pilots finished second in with a time of 7:38.3. Natalie Petty was coxswain for the Pilots while Gaby Twitchell was the stroke. Two varsity eight races followed, with Portland taking third in both. The second varsity eight finished in a time of 7:20.1 while the first varsity eight finished in 7:04.3. Clarissa Gutierrez and Molly Spraker were the coxswain and stroke for the second varsity eight while Leahbelle Paladino and Kate Feustel were the coxswain and stroke for the first varsity eight. 
 
The final race of the day for the Pilots saw their third varsity eight and novice eight boats compete. The third varsity eight got the lone win on the day, finishing in 7:30.9. Megan Holland was coxswain while Madi Quinton was the stroke. The novice eight took third with a time of 7:58.7, with Bella Valenzuela as the coxswain and Megan Eckles as the stroke.
