PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland Men's Soccer forward earned national recognition for his stellar performance last weekend, winning TopDrawerSoccer Player of the Week honors and Team of the Week honors. He's the first Pilot this season to win Player of the Week honors.
Ajagbe earned the honor after scoring four goals in Portland's 5-4 victory over the then-No. 25 San Diego Toreros last week, the most goals in a single game by a Pilot since 2022. He's just the seventh Pilot in program history to score four goals in a match. Ajagbe's four goals are also tied for the most of any NCAA Division I player this year.
Portland continued their hot start to WCC play with their win over the Toreros. Portland is now 6-3-2 and 3-0-0 in conference, the first WCC team to three wins this year. It's their first 3-0 start to WCC play since 2022, with their 14 goals through the first three WCC matches being the most in program history. Their plus-10 goal differential is also the highest they've posted through the first three WCC games since 1991.
Portland returns home to welcome their newest conference foe, the Denver Pioneers. The two teams play on Saturday, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. The match is a 503 game, with $5 tickets, free parking and $3 hot dogs available to our fans. Check PortlandPilots.com for tickets, live stats and video options.
