CHULA VISTA, Calif. – Portland Pilots Rowing concluded racing at the Triton Invite on Sunday, with the second varsity four taking second for the highest finish from a Pilot boat today.
The second varsity four was the final race of the day, with the Pilots posting a time of 8:02.55 with Reegan Gardiner as the Coxswain and Sam Kronis as the stroke. They beat the San Diego Toreros and came up just behind the Saint Mary's Gaels.
The varsity eight, with Leahbelle Paladino as the coxswain and Julia Kiplinger as the stroke, finished with a time of 7:03.02 to take third. The second varsity eight and varsity four both took third as well, with the second varsity eight posting a time of 7:07.24 and the varsity four finishing in 7:56.59. For the second varsity eight, Natalie Petty was the coxswain and Averie Zealley the stroke while Bellan Valenzuela was the coxswain and Phoebe Price were the coxswain and stroke for the varsity four.
The 2026 WCC Championships are next, taking place at Lake Natoma in Gold River, Calif. Racing will take place the weekend of May 15-16. Check PortlandPilots.com for more information.
