SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Portland senior Alaia Rubio Perez and sophomore Maria Galatescu were named the West Coast Conference Doubles Team of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday. The pair won both matches in helping Portland to wins over Pacific and Saint Mary's last week.

Portland's No. 1 tandem cruised to a 6-2 win against Pacific's Milena Maiorova and Indiya McLeod to help clinch the doubles point in an eventual 4-0 sweep of the Tigers on Thursday. They then knocked off Sophia Daryaie and Tiana Fox 7-2 in a tiebreaker to provide the doubles clinching point in Saturday's 6-1 win against Saint Mary's.

Rubio Perez and Galatescu improved to 14-11 overall in doubles this season and are now 3-3 against tough WCC opposition.

The Pilots (8-8, 3-3 WCC) continue WCC play this weekend with a road trip to Gonzaga and Washington State as they look to secure a spot in the WCC Championships.
