Perry and Fauble Lead No. 5 Pilots at Wisconsin Adidas Invitational

MADISON, Wisc. --- Redshirt sophomores David Perry and Scott Fauble finished within three seconds of each other to lead the young fifth-ranked Pilots at the Wisconsin Adidas Invitational on Friday afternoon at the Thomas Zimmer Cross Country Course.
Racing in a field of 45 of the nation’s top teams, the Pilots ran just two upperclassmen on the day en route to a twelfth place finish with 407 points. Portland placed between Syracuse (402) and Northern Arizona (447).
Perry and Fauble were the only Pilot runners to finish in under 24-minutes, posting times of 23:54 and 23:57, respectively.
Freshman Jacob Smith led the second wave of Pilot runners, clocking a 24:15. Senior Jared Bassett followed closely in his season debut with a time of 24:17.
Sophomore Woody Kincaid rounded out the scoring for the Pilots in 24:28, one second ahead of freshman Izaic Yorks in Yorks’ first collegiate race. Junior Aiden Irish also ran for the Pilots.
Portland’s back in action on Saturday as the “B” squad runs at the Warner Pacific College Invitational in Portland, joining the Pilots women in the meet.
