PORTLAND, Ore--- Fresh off his second All-American finish at the NCAA Cross Country Championships, Portland redshirt junior Scott Fauble has been named the U.S. Bank University of Portland Student-Athlete of the Month for November. A native of Golden, Co., Fauble had an impressive month of November.
Â
At the WCC Championships on
Nov. 2, Fauble placed third overall and helped the Pilots to a second place team finish. This All-Conference finish was just the beginning to his illustrious November campaign.
Two weeks later at the NCAA West Regional, Fauble rubbed elbows with the best in the West and finished fourth over the 10k course. He earned his second consecutive All-Region certificate with the performance. The Pilots finished third in the Region and earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Championships the following week.
At the NCAA Championships, Fauble ran through dreadful conditions for a 13
th place finish and propelled the Pilots to finish seventh, tying their all-time best finish at the Nationals. With his individual finish, Fauble earned his second consecutive Cross Country All-American certificate.
Â
"It feels good to be recognized for a season's worth of hard work," said Fauble. "But, what matters most to me is if our team succeeds and, thankfully, we had a lot of that this year."
