PORTLAND, Ore. --- Ellie Boon (Washougal, Wash./Washougal HS), Alyssa Edenstrom (Olympia, Wash./Capital HS), Mikayla Elmer (West Haven, Utah/Fremont HS), Danica Evans (Lakewood, Colo./Lakewood HS), Madi Hall (Lakewood, Colo./D'Evelyn HS), Parkes Kendrick (Portland, Ore./Grant HS), Ariel Viera (Scappoose, Ore./Scappoose HS) and Allison Wetherington (Acworth, Ga./Darlington HS) have each signed a National Letter of Intent to play women's soccer at the University of Portland. The eight incoming recruits will join the Pilots as freshmen next fall.Â
Ellie Boon, a 5-8 forward, played for the U.S. U-14 National Team, the U-15 National Team and the U-17 National Team, and was with the U-18 National Team earlier this month.

Boon has played for the ODP Region IV Team since 2009. A team captain, Boon was named to the All-Tournament First Team at the ODP Championships in Phoenix, Ariz., in 2011 and 2012 and at the ODP Interregionals in Florida in 2012. Boon has also been a member of Oregon ODP since 2007 and she was named the Oregon ODP Female Player of the Year and the Portland Timbers Female Player of the Year in 2011.

Boon earned three letters for the Washougal Panthers before taking her senior year off to concentrate on club soccer. Boon was named to the Washington 2A All-State Team all three years, while also garnering All-Region honors. She was a two-time team MVP, a three-time team offensive MVP and she was selected the 2011 Regional Player of the Year. With her Vancouver United Club Team, Boon won the U.S. Club Silver Division National Championship in 2012 and she scored four goals during the title game.Â
Alyssa Edenstrom is a 6-0 center back who was a four-year letterwinner for the Capital Cougars. Edenstrom was named the All-League MVP twice (2009 & 2011) and was named the league's most offensive player in 2009. She was also a three-time team MVP, a three-time team offensive MVP and she helped the Cougars finish fifth in the state at the 3A level in 2009 and 2010.

A team captain for six years, Edenstrom played club soccer for South Central Crush/Puget Sound Slammers, Washington Premier and Slammers FC. Her club teams claimed two state championships (2006 & 2008).

A 5-6 midfielder,
Mikayla Elmer was a member of the national team player pool in 2009 and 2010. Elmer played for the ODP Region IV Team in 2010 and she played on the ODP State team from 2008-10.Â
A four-year letterwinner for the Fremont Silverfoxes, Elmer was named the team's offensive MVP and she landed on the Salt Lake Tribune First Team. She also played club soccer for the Rampage and the Utah Avalanche, which competed in the Elite Clubs National League for three years.

Danica Evans, a 5-6 forward who was a four-year letterwinner for the Lakewood Tigers, played for the U.S. U-17 National Team in 2012. She also played for the Colorado ODP in 2007, 2008 and 2009.

Evans led the Tigers in goals in both 2009 and 2012, and she was named to the All-Jefferson County League First Team as a senior. She also garnered team MVP honors last fall and was selected to the all-conference second team as a sophomore. The Tigers were a playoff team in 2012.Â
Evans also saw success with both her Colorado Edge and Colorado Rush club teams. Her club team claimed the state cup in 2008 and 2010, and she was named the State Cup MVP in 2012. Her club team has also competed in the Elite Clubs National League since 2009 and she is currently the ECNL's national leader in goals scored. She also traveled to England in 2012 as part of the Nike's The Chance, which is a global search for the next wave of great soccer players.

Madi Hall, a 5-7 defender, played with the Colorado ODP every year eligible and was with the Region IV Team in 2010 and 2011. Hall, who was called into the National Team Camp in 2011, is currently in the national team pool and she's taken part in the id2 Regional and National Camp three times (2009, 2010, & 2011).

A Jeffco All-Conference Selection and a team captain while at D'Evelyn High School, Hall played with fellow recruit Danica Evans for the Colorado Rush. A long-time team captain, Hall helped her Rush club team capture the State Cup in 2009 and 2011. The Rush has been ranked as high as No. 6 in the ECNL, while receiving the No. 1 ranking in their region. Hall, Evans and the Rush finished ninth at ECNL Nationals in 2012.

A Portland native,
Parkes Kendrick is a 5-2 midfielder who earned four varsity letters for the Grant Generals. In 2011, she was named the PIL 6A Special District Player of the Year, while also landing on the Oregon 6A All-State Team. As a senior in 2012, Kendrick earned all-state second team honors and she was selected to the PIL 6A Special District All-League Team. In 2010, Kendrick helped the Generals finish second in the state.

Kendrick played club for the Oregon Soccer Academy and more recently FC Portland. She won a state title in 2012 with her FC Portland team.

Ariel Viera is one of the most prolific goal scorers in Oregon prep high school history. Last fall the 5-4 forward, who can also play in the midfield and at outside back, became only the fourth prep women's soccer player to score more than 100 career goals. She finished with 116 total goals during her four years at Scappoose, which is tied for the second most all-time and is behind only Tiffeny Milbrett's 131 goals at Hillsboro.

Viera is a three-time, first-team All-State 4A selection, she landed on the All-Cowapa League First Team all four years on varsity, was the league player of the year three times and helped the Indians to four league titles and an undefeated conference record (34-0-1). Scappoose qualified for the district playoffs for the first time in school history during Viera's freshman campaign and the Indians reached the state semifinals in both 2010 and 2012 and made it to the quarterfinals in 2011.

Viera, who was recently named the Johnny Carpenter Prep Athlete of the Year at the Oregon Sports Awards, played for FC Portland for nine years. Her club team was a State Cup finalist four times before winning the state title in 2012. She was also invited to the ECNL/id2 National Camp last July.

Allison Wetherington, a 5-4 attacking midfielder, has played with the U.S. U-18 National Team for the past year and a half and she is currently with the U-20 National Team. Wetherington has also played with the ODP Region III Team, participated in three ECNL/id2 National Camps and traveled to England last summer with fellow recruit Danica Evans and Nike's The Chance.

Wetherington, who did not play high school soccer, was a member of the Georgia ODP for five years and competed in the ECNL with her Concorde Fire Soccer Club team for the past three years. Her club team finished fourth at nationals in 2011 and eighth in 2012.
