PORTLAND, Ore. --- Portland sophomore starter Kurt Yinger is the West Coast Conference Rawlings Pitcher of the Week after hurling his first career complete game shutout against UC Riverside last Saturday at Joe Etzel Field. San Diego junior Kris Bryant is the Rawlings WCC Player of the Week.
 
Yinger, a right-hander from Camas, Wash., registered a career-high 12 strikeouts and didn’t walk a single batter to pick up the W as the Pilots defeated the Highlanders 2-0. Yinger scattered six hits and the Highlanders advanced a runner past second base just once, and his gem helped the Pilots win the three-game non-conference series.
 
Yinger extended his streak of consecutive scoreless innings to 19.0, which dates back to the sixth inning of a game at UC Irvine on March 2.
