SEATTLE, Wash. --- The Portland Pilots women's rowing team won all three races to sweep a dual against the Seattle Redhawks on Saturday morning on the Lake Washington Ship Canal. Portland’s varsity eight, novice eight and four each won their respective events.
The varsity eight began the day with by topping the Redhawks by two seconds on the course which stretched from the Seattle Rowing Center to the Fremont Avenue Bridge. Portland registered a time of 07:21.44, while the Redhawks covered the course in 07:23.30.
Next up was Portland’s novice eight, which easily finished ahead of the Redhawks with a time of 07:42.78. SU was well back with a time of 08:01.78.
The Portland four then capped the successful day by pulling away from the Redhawks and posting a time of 09:00.26, which was comfortably ahead of Seattle’s time of 09:55.79.
The Pilots next return to the water when they head back to Seattle for the Windermere Cup on Saturday, May 4.
