Hey there!
This past weekend the team traveled up to Seattle for a dual meet against Seattle University. This is their first year with a Division 1 rowing program, so it was great to compete against a team starting off just like us.
Friday night we all went to teammate Kayla Russell’s house for dinner. A special thank you to all of the parents who contributed food, it was definitely one of the best meals I’ve experienced so far in my tenure as a college student. There are truly few things that are better than a home cooked meal. Thank you also to the families that provided breakfast after the races, everything was delicious! (And I can say this with great confidence, because I tried everything)
Rowing-wise it was a successful weekend for everyone. We even got a big smile from Coach Bill Zack! All three races were won and it was a great opportunity to experience a different course and get another race under our belts. It was awesome to have such a strong turn out of family and friends, we love you Pilot fans! (captain Jamie Opra had quite the fan club).
It’s crazy to think that the WCC Championship is only weeks away. It’s on our minds every day, and with every stroke we’re working towards having the strongest team possible. BGD!
