PORTLAND, OR--- Laura Hottenrott picked up the win in her first race this season during Saturday's Autumn Classic hosted by BYU in Provo, UT. Hottenrott cruised through the 5K course in 18:06.8. Fellow Pilot Gina Paletta was second with a time of 18:13.3

Anna Luijten, Tansey Lystad, and Marit Tegelaar would round out the top-five for the Pilots and propel them to a second place finish overall. BYU finished with 37 points- two points better than the Pilots' 39.
In their four-mile race Saturday, the Pilot men also finished second to BYU. Woody Kincaid, the first Pilot to cross the finish line, finished third overall in 20:04.4 and Scott Fauble was the fourth-place finisher right behind him in 20:04.5.
Charlie McDonald covered the course in 20:11 and finished sixth overall. David Perry and Ryan Poland wound up as the fourth and fifth Pilot harriers. They finished eighth and 14th, respectively.
BYU, currently number four in the nation, bested the Pilots, who sit at number eight nationally, by a score of 25 to 33.
The Portland men still hold down the top spot in the USTFCCCA West ranking and the women are pegged at number 11 in the West.
