Women's Video RecapSPOKANE, Wash. --- The Portland Pilots men's cross country team took second and the women's team placed fifth at the West Coast Conference Championship on Saturday morning in the less than desirable rainy conditions. Nick Hauger was the first Pilot across the line in the men's race in 11
th and Lauren LaRocco placed 6
th in the women's race.
The women took to the 6k course at the Plantes Ferry Sports Stadium first where LaRocco completed the course in 21:18.7. Rounding out the top five finishers were Sanna Mustonen (13
th, 28:28.0), Taryn Rawlings (21
st, 22:00.5), Anna Farello (22
nd, 22:04.3), and Courney Cox (34
th, 22:42.0).
Hauger navigated the 8k course in  time of 25:18.0. Following him in 12
th, 13
th, and 14
th were Danny Martinez (25:28.4), Timo Goehler (25:32.1), and Alex Dillard (25:33.9) respectively. Rounding out the top five finishers was Jeff Thies in 17
th with a time of 25:40.6.
BYU took the men's title with 17 points while the home side Gonzaga won the women's title with 59 points on a tie breaker over BYU.
The next event will be the NCAA West Regional on Nov. 11.
