Complete 2016 SchedulePORTLAND, Ore. --- The Portland Pilots baseball team has announced the 2016 schedule, which includes the program's first night game ever at Joe Etzel Field. After opening the slate with four games at UC Davis (Feb. 19-21), the Pilots return to the friendly confines where they'll play under the lights for the first time when they host Oakland on Friday, Feb. 26 at 6 p.m.

"2016 offers us a very balanced home and away schedule," said Portland's first-year head coach Geoff Loomis. "And thanks to the addition of lights to Joe Etzel Field, we're thrilled to be offering evening games for UP students and fans of the program."

The weekend series with Oakland also includes Portland Baseball's 2016 Diamond Dinner, which is scheduled for Saturday night, Feb. 27, following the afternoon game against the Golden Grizzlies.

The four-game series with Oakland is part of a 10-game homestand for the Pilots as Seattle (March 1 & March 8) and UC Riverside (March 4-6) both visit The Bluff. Portland then heads on the road for a four-game set at Utah Valley (March 10-13) before opening play in the West Coast Conference against the Loyola Marymount Lions in Los Angeles, Calif., the weekend of March 18-20.

The Pilots then step out of conference to host in-state rival Oregon State mid-week before welcoming Cal State Northridge to the Rose City. The three-game series with CSUN is scheduled for Thursday-Saturday, March 24-26, and the Friday game will take place at Ron Tonkin Field in Hillsboro, Ore., with first pitch slated for 7 p.m. at the home of the Hillsboro Hops.

A quick trip to Seattle U precedes a three-game WCC series with the BYU Cougars at Joe Etzel Field, March 31-April 2. A non-conference game at Oregon follows, as does a conference series at Gonzaga (April 8-10).

The Beavers then host Portland in Corvallis before the Pilots play their second game at Ron Tonkin Field, this time vs. Oregon on Wednesday, April 13 at 6 p.m.

It's then back to The Bluff to host the Pacific Tigers for three (April 15-17) at Joe Etzel Field. Portland closes the month of April with a series at Pepperdine (April 22-24) and a three-game set at home against the San Diego Toreros during graduation weekend (April 29-30). Due to UP's commencement ceremonies on Sunday, May 1, the Pilots and Toreros will play a double header on Friday, beginning at 12 p.m., before playing the finale at 11 a.m. on Saturday,

The San Francisco Dons then come to town during the weekend of May 6-8, before the Pilots head south for their annual tilt against the Oregon State Beavers at Volcanoes Stadium in Salem, which is scheduled for Tuesday May 10.

The regular season ends with trips to Santa Clara (April 13-15) and Oregon (May 17) before concluding at home against Saint Mary's. The Pilots and Gaels are set to play two games on Friday, May 20, before playing the regular season finale on Sunday, May 22.
