SEATTLE, Wash. --- The Portland Pilots women's rowing team was at the University of Washington on Sunday morning where they competed in the 2015 Head of the Lake Regatta to conclude the fall portion of their schedule. The Pilots raced three eights and two fours while in Seattle.
 
Portland's varsity eight began the day against crews from Washington, Washington State, British Columbia, Stanford, Oregon State and Seattle. The Portland boat covered the three-mile course with a time of 9:25.744, while Washington claimed the event's top time.
 
Washington's second eight also finished with the fastest time, while the UP crew posted a time of 9:50.234. Portland's novice eight raced in the third eight event, which was also topped by a crew from Washington. The Pilots finished with a time of 10:28.696, which was better than three other boats.
 
Portland's two fours capped the day, posting times of 10:58.511 and 11:16.721.
 
The three-mile course started in Lake Union before winding beneath the University Bridge into Portage Bay and through the Montlake Cut to Lake Washington. That's where the course turned back toward Husky Stadium to the finish line near the entrance to Conibear Shellhouse on Union Bay.
