GOLD RIVER, Calif. – The Portland Pilots second varsity four made the Grand Final of the 2025 WCC Rowing Championships with their second-place finish on Friday. Portland's three other boats each took fourth in their respective heats.
 
With Bella Valenzuela as the coxswain and Madi Franco as the stroke, the Pilots finished with a time of 7:59. They will have a chance to compete for first in the grand final tomorrow at 8:15 a.m.
 
The first varsity four followed, finishing with a time of 8:02. Natalie Petty was the coxswain with Averie Zealley as the stroke. The second varsity eight, with Clarissa Gutierrez as the coxswain and Mina Mihajlovic as the stroke, followed with a fourth-place finish at 7:02. The first varsity eight finished the racing, taking fourth with a time of 6:52. Leahbealle Paladino was the coxswain with Kate Feustel as the stroke.
 
The Pilots will be back at it tomorrow, starting with the second varsity four at 8:15 a.m. The first varsity four will race after that at 8:30, followed by the second varsity eight at 9 a.m. and the first varsity eight at 9:30 a.m. Tomorrow's races will be broadcast on ESPN+ as well.
