SAN BRUNO, Calif. --- Portland senior outfielder Ryan Barr earned All-West Coast Conference Honorable Mention, it was announced on Tuesday afternoon. This is the first conference honor for Barr, who led the Pilots with a .284 batting average against league opponents.
 
Barr also had five doubles during WCC games, a triple, a home run, 12 RBI's and six runs scored. He led the league with four sacrifice flies against conference foes, and he made only one error in 69 chances. Overall, Barr led the Pilots with three triples on the season, and he was third on the team in doubles (8) and RBI's (21).
 
Gonzaga junior infielder Jeff Bohling captured West Coast Conference Player of the Year honors, Pepperdine junior right-hander A.J. Puckett earned conference Pitcher of the Year accolades, and first-year star outfielder Keaton Kringlen collected the Freshman of the Year award for BYU.
 
Junior shortstop Nico Giarratano of San Francisco captured Defensive Player of the Year honors, while Saint Mary's Eric Valenzuela was selected by his peers as Coach of the Year.
 
All five individual awards – along with the All-West Coast Conference First, Second and Freshman Teams – were voted on solely by the league's 10 head coaches.
