NORTHRIDGE, Calif. --- The 2017 baseball season opener for the Portland Pilots scheduled for Friday afternoon has been postponed at CSUN due to heavy rain in Southern California. Also the Pilots and Matadors will no longer play a previously scheduled double header on Saturday, instead opting for a single game at 1:30 p.m. 

The two teams will conclude the abbreviated three-game series with a double header on Sunday, with the first game scheduled to begin at 8 a.m.
 
Portland remains on the road next week when they travel to CSU Bakersfield for another four-game non-conference series, which begins on Thursday, Feb. 23. The Pilots' first play at Joe Etzel Field on March 9 when they host Northwestern for a four-game set.
