THIS WEEK - WCC CHAMPIONSHIPS
• The Portland Pilots will compete at the 2018 WCC Championships on Saturday at the East Bay Golf Course in Provo, Utah.
• The men's and women's rosters were unavailable for this event.
• Women's head coach Ian Solof quote: "This will be a real challenge racing at altitude but our team is ready to compete. We know how good BYU is and expect them to set the tone early. Our focus will be on running smart and being tough the second half."
• The first race of the day will be the women's 6k at 9:00 a.m. (PT). The men's 8k will follow at 10:00 a.m. (PT).
• The meet will be live streamed on theW.tv. The link to the live stream can be found on PortlandPilots.com or WCCsports.com on the day of the race. Live results can be found on RecordTiming.com.

2018 ACCOMPLISHMENTS
• The Portland Men opened up the 2018 season by claiming the Portland State Invite. Said Guermali led the Pilots with a first place finish and was named the WCC Runner of the Week for his performance.
• The Portland women won their second meet of the year, the Oregon Preview. The Pilots placed six runners in the top-10, with redshirt sophomore Susan Van Weperen leading the way with a third place finish.
• At the Nuttycombe Invite, the men's team placed third and the women took 12th among stacked fields.
• Nick Hauger was named WCC Runner of the week after Nuttycombe for his 6th place finish. The finish marked the best ever by a WCC representative.
• Lauren LaRocco also earned WCC Runner of the Week honors after finishing 16th overall in Wisconsin.
• At the NCAA PreNational meet in Wisconsin, the Portland men finished 9th overall, led by senior Michael Somers who placed 22nd in his first race in the Portland jersey.
• The Pilot women finished 6th as a team in Wisconsin, led by LaRocco's seventh place finish
• Back in Portland at the Warner Pacific Classic, both the men's and women's teams swept the meet with first place finishes. Redshirt sophomore Lacey Conner claimed the individual title on the women's side and redshirt freshman Evert Silva led the Portland men with a second place finish.
• The Pilot women then competed at the Beaver Classic in Corvallis, Ore., where the team took first overall led by junior Sophia Noto who finished first as an individual.

PILOTS IN THE POLLS
• Men's Cross Country was picked to finish second to BYU in the 2018 WCC Preseason Poll.
• The women were picked to finish third, behind BYU and San Francisco who tied in the WCC Preseason polls with first place votes.
• LaRocco was ranked in the preseason poll by FloTrack as the No.19 individual and senior Noah Schutte has been predicted to make a huge jump to No. 22. Schutte was the seventh man for the Pilots at last year's national meet finishing 148th. The Pilot most recently finished 23rd at the European 3K Steeplechase Championships.
• Roudolff-Levisse checked in at the No. 10 men's individual in the preseason FloTrack rankings and the Portland men were picked to finish third as a team.
• The Pilot women have also made an appearance in the FloTrack women's Team poll, ranking as high as No.12. They currently rank No.18 in the team poll.
• The Portland men have ranked as high as No.3 as a team in the FloTrack rankings. They currently sit at No.4.
• After Hauger's sixth place finish at the Nuttycombe Invite, FloTrack ranked Hauger as an individual at No.19.
• In the USTFCCCA team polls, the men's team has ranked as high as No.3 this season. The team has remained at No.1 regionally all season, but currently ranks No.5 in the national poll.
• On the women's side, the team started out the season receiving votes in the USTFCCCA National Coaches Poll. Since then, the team has moved up to their highest ranking yet this season at No.19. In the regional poll, the women rank No.5.
