PORTLAND, Ore. --- Portland outfielder Beau Brundage is the U.S. Bank Student-Athlete of the Month for March after helping lead the Pilots to a solid start in the West Coast Conference. Brundage hit .359 during the month, with an on-base percentage of .444.

Brundage, a redshirt-sophomore originally from Buford, Ga., had nine multi-hit games, and the month featured a career-long 18-game hitting streak. He also totaled five doubles, a triple, 11 RBI's and 11 runs scored. He walked 11 times, and he was nearly flawless in the field, collecting 55 putouts, four assists, and a fielding percentage of .983.

On March 12, Brundage was named the Rawlings WCC Player of the Week after hitting .563 during a four-game split with UC Irvine at Joe Etzel Field. He produced three doubles and seven RBI's against the Anteaters, and he capped the series with a 3-for-4 performance with two RBI's and two runs scored as the Pilots won the finale.

Overall on the season, Brundage ranks second in the WCC in on-base percentage (.458), he's third in batting average (.366), and fourth in hits (37).

The Pilots are off to their best conference start since 2013 as they head to Spokane for a key league series with the Gonzaga Bulldogs.
