NCAA West Regional Results
COLFAX, Wash. --- The #11 Portland men's cross country team defended their West Region team title today at Colfax Golf Course, with senior Emmanuel Roudolff-Levisse claiming second place overall and leading the Pilots to their third straight team West Region title. Six Portland harriers collected All-West Region honors by placing in the top 25 individually.
This is the program's fourth overall regional championship.
Roudolff-Levisse broke away from the field early and stayed there throughout the entire race. At one point, the senior, along with Washington's Andrew Jordan, led the chase pack by 11 seconds. Roudolff-Levisse finished the 10K with a time of 29:44.9, which was second only to Jordan.
Next to cross for Portland was Evert Silva in 12th place, earning a new personal best with his time of 30:02.4. Michael Teran-Solano (30:02.5) was close behind in 13th, followed by Riley Osen (30:03.4) in 18th, and Joe Horen (30:06.8) in 20th.
Reuben Kiprono also claimed a new PR with his time of 30:09.4, and Caleb Webb finished in a time of 30:46.0.
"I'm very proud of how patient, confident and tough the team was today," said head coach Rob Conner. "Just very impressive top to bottom."
With a first-place finish at the meet, Portland secures the automatic bid to the NCAA Championships, and will mark their 20th program appearance at the meet. The NCAA XC Championships will take place next weekend in Terra Haute, Ind., on Nov. 23.
