PORTLAND, Ore. --- Portland junior guard Maddie Muhlheim was named to the West Coast Conference Women's Basketball All-Academic Team, while junior post Lauren Walker earned honorable mention recognition. This is the second straight year to land on the all-academic team for Muhlheim, and it's the first honor for Walker.
 
Muhlheim boasts a 3.93 GPA and is majoring in accounting. A Portland native, Muhlheim is averaging 8.2 points per game, and she's coming off a 27-point performance during a win at LMU. She buried seven three-pointers against the Lions, and she currently ranks fourth all-time in Portland program history with 173 career three's.
 
Walker is enjoying her best year on The Bluff, averaging 5.2 points and 3.3 rebounds. Walker, who originally hails from Windsor, Calif., has started 21 games, she's scored in double figures five times, and she collected a career-high 12 points during a win at BYU. She's a biology major with a 3.7 GPA.
 
At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC-sponsored sport. To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average while also being a significant contributor to her team.
