PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland Pilots Women's Basketball announced on Thursday their nonconference schedule for the 2026-27 season. The schedule sees the Pilots welcome high-level opponents such as the Stanford Cardinal to the Chiles Center and take on several strong opponents on the road, including two NCAA Tournament teams in the Oregon Ducks and the Princeton Tigers.

Portland opens the season against the Willamette Bearcats at the Chiles Center on Nov. 2 in a doubleheader with the men. Portland travels soon after to Provo to take on the BYU Cougars. BYU went 26-12 overall last season and 9-9 in the Big 12, qualifying for the Women's Basketball Invitation Tournament (WBIT) and advancing all the way to the title game before falling to the Columbia Lions. Portland dropped their contest last year against the Cougars.

The Pilots head to Big Sky country next for a rematch against the Montana State Bobcats on Nov. 8. The Bobcats went 27-8 overall and 16-2 in the Big Sky to take second in the conference. Portland and Montana State played twice last season, with the Bobcats taking both contests. The Pilots return home on Nov. 11 to play Warner Pacific.

Portland's first Division I opponent at the Chiles Center will be Long Beach State on Nov. 14, who the Pilots defeated 94-58 on the road last season. The game kicks off a six-game home stretch for the Pilots. Portland then welcomes their crosstown rival in the Portland State Vikings to The Bluff, with the contest set for Nov. 18. The Vikings and Pilots played at Viking Pavilion last year, with the Pilots defeating PSU 98-53.

For the first time since 2022, the Pilots will welcome the Stanford Cardinal to the Chiles Center on Nov. 22. The Cardinal went 21-14 overall last season and 8-10 in the ACC, advancing to the quarterfinals of the WBIT before falling to BYU. The last time the Pilots played the Cardinal, Portland defeated Stanford in the opening round of the WBIT in overtime at Maples Pavilion for their first win ever against Stanford.

Portland stays home to welcome the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos on Nov. 25. The Gauchos finished last season 20-10 overall and 12-8 in the Big West. The Pilots close out the homestand against the South Carolina State Bulldogs on Dec. 2. The road beckons soon after, with the Pilots taking on a familiar foe in the Washington State Cougars on Dec. 5 in Pullman. Washington State spent the last two seasons with the West Coast Conference, with the Pilots taking all six contests over that span.

Portland heads East soon after, taking on the Princeton Tigers on Dec. 13. The Tigers dominated the Ivy League last year with a 26-4 overall record and 12-2 conference record, taking their second regular season title in three years and their second tournament title in as many seasons. Portland defeated the Tigers at the Chiles Center in 2024. The Pilots play the Oregon Ducks on the road on Dec. 16. The Ducks were 23-13 overall and 8-10 in Big Ten play, qualifying for the NCAA Tournament and earning a first-round win against Virginia Tech. The Pilots played the Ducks last season in Eugene as well, dropping that contest.

Portland closes the nonconference slate against the Mountain West, with a home game against the Wyoming Cowgirls on Dec. 19 and a road game against the New Mexico Lobos on Dec. 21. Wyoming went 10-20 overall and 7-13 in the Mountain West while the Lobos went 22-9 overall and 14-6 in the Mountain West.

The Pilots finished the year at 20-15 overall and 11-7 in WCC play, earning at least 20 wins for the sixth time in seven years and the fifth season in a row. It's the first time in program history the Pilots have posted five straight years of at least 20 wins in a row. They made the WNIT for their seventh straight season qualifying for postseason play, earning two wins to make the Super 16. All seven wins for the Pilots ever in the postseason have come under head coach Michael Meek. They return all eligible players who played last season while adding four newcomers.
