PORTLAND, Ore. --- The Portland Pilots beach volleyball team begins their 2020 season this Saturday, hosting the Oregon Ducks. The match shall start at 11:00 a.m. at Frenchman's Bar Regional Park in Vancouver, Wash. on February 29th.
  
Portland features four players returning from their top three pair's, including seniors Shayla Hoeft and Emma Scanlan, junior Carey Williams and sophomore Sarah Strong. Williams led the squad in dual victories with five, including a dual win against the Ducks in the Pilots regular season finale in 2019.

The Pilots are coming off a 2019 season that featured new heights for the program, including Portland recording their first season with multiple WCC wins as a program, defeating the Pacific Tigers twice at the Santa Cruz WCC Mid-Season Invitational. 

Oregon accomplished a number of program firsts in the 2019 season, capping off the season with its first ever win in a Pac-12 Championship match. The Ducks won a school-record five matches, finishing 5-11-1. Sophomore Brooke Nuneviller returns to action, after setting a program single-season record with 11 wins in 2019.
