SEATTLE, Wash. – In their final race of the fall, the Pilots took part in the 41st annual Head of the Lake Regatta on Sunday morning in two races, with their first varsity eight taking fifth in their respective race and their second varsity eight taking third. The teams raced the short 3200-meter course due to poor weather conditions.
The first varsity eight took part in the Champ Women's 8+ sponsored by Pocock Racing Shell. The team finished fifth with a final time of 12:05.715. Sage Iona was the cox for that boat while Catherine Watson served as the stroke.
Meanwhile, the second varsity eight partook in the women's collegiate JV 8+ race, taking third with a time of 12:47.738. Sophie Osborn was the cox while Katelyn Barney was the stroke.
The race marked the final time the Pilots will be competing this fall. Check PortlandPilots.com for more information on the spring season.
