SAN MATEO, Calif.—Pilots rowers Maddie Olson and Tess Pritchett landed on the All-WCC Preseason Team for the upcoming 2021 season, the conference announced on Tuesday. The Pilots were selected to finish fourth in the coaches poll with 18 points.
At the 2019 WCC Championships, Olson competed on the varsity four, while Pritchett was a member of the varsity eight team.
The Pilots also finished in fourth place at the 2019 WCC Championships, which is the same spot they have closed out the season in for the past four years.
San Diego was picked to win the West Coast Conference by a one-point margin at 33 points, with Gonzaga close behind in second place at 32. Both teams received three first-place votes each. LMU also gained a first-place vote, finishing just ahead of Portland in third place with 28 points.
Creighton (14), Saint Mary's (13) and Santa Clara (9) rounded out the next three places in the poll.
The 2020 WCC Championships were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, while Gonzaga has won four-straight WCC titles from 2016 to 2019.
The All-WCC Preseason Rowing Team is made up of 17 athletes from the WCC's seven member institutions.
