PORTLAND, Ore.---The Portland Pilots beach volleyball team is headed back to Salem on Tuesday for a two-contest day, first playing the Oregon Ducks at 2 p.m., before a final matchup this spring with the Corban Warriors, set to begin at 4 p.m.
Â
Live stats and live video will not be available for either of the matches.
Â
The Pilots return to the sand after a long break since their most recent competition, which was a pairs tournament in Salem back on March 14 with Corban, Washington, and Boise State. The Portland 1s pair of Shayla Hoeft and Alycia Wodke produced a win against a team of Broncos back on the day, using all three sets to come out on top with the 2-1 result.
Â
Several Pilots will also be making their debut performances on the beach courts this year, following the completion of the 2021 spring indoor season only a couple of weeks ago.
Â
"We are very excited to get back into the swing of competition after an extended break," said head coach Dylan Hamilton. "We have had time to work on some areas of weakness, as well as create better relationships between teammates within our pairs. The squad can't wait to get in the sand tomorrow for our first match as a full team."
