SEATTLE, Wash.---Portland 1s Shayla Hoeft and Alycia Wodke went to three sets against both No. 15 Hawai'i and Oregon at the Husky Invitational beach volleyball tournament on Saturday, just getting held off by the Rainbow Wahine, but rallying back to earn a win against the Ducks to end the day.

In the first match of the morning at Alki Beach, 15th-ranked Hawai'i overcame the Pilots by a score of 5-0 to move on to the championship match and play tournament hosts Washington. Hawai'i would go on to beat the Huskies 4-1 and win the two-day tournament overall.

Hoeft and Wodke faced off with the Hawai'i 1s of Pani Napoleon and Jamie Santer, coming back with a 21-11 set two win after losing the first. Although forcing the third frame, the 'Bows eventually came out with the dual victory by a 15-9 margin in the final set.

The Pilots then competed in the third-place match against Oregon, where the Ducks prevailed 4-1, yet Hoeft and Wodke produced a comeback victory with a third set that went all the way to a score of 25-23.

The Pilots will have a quick turnaround before heading down to Eugene for another match-up with the Ducks on Wednesday, April 21, with games set to begin at 12 p.m.
