SAN MATEO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has announced its Beach Volleyball All-Academic Team for the 2021 season, with Shayla Hoeft, Kellie Hughes, and Alycia Wodke highlighting recognition for the Pilots.

No fewer than 33 beach volleyball student-athletes qualified for academic honors. Nearly 25 posted a GPA of at least 3.50, while 17 posted marks of 3.75 or better.

At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC-sponsored sport. To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, while also being a significant contributor to her team.

Hoeft and Wodke teamed up as the Portland 1's pair during the 2021 season, and were the Pilots' most dominant duo with four dual wins on the season.
Â
Hughes competed at both the 2 and 3 spots this year for Portland, collecting a sweep with Kendall Nolan against a pair of Corban Warriors on April 13th.
