Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 MORAGA, Calif. – Portland freshman Alaia Rubio Perez won the singles title of the Red Draw on Sunday to conclude an impressive showing for the Pilots at the Saint Mary's Invitational. Sophomore Sally Pethybridge was also a finalist of the top flight Blue Draw.

Rubio Perez knocked off Julia Moraes of Sacramento State in a three-set semifinal before fighting off three match points and pulling out a 6-1, 2-6, 7-5 win over Gabriela Tevez of the host Gaels.

Pethybridge won four singles matches including a 6-4, 7-6 semifinals win against Tomi Main of Pacific before falling to San Francisco's Chiho Mushika 6-3, 7-6 in the title match.

Collectively, the Pilots posted a 15-8 singles record over the weekend.

Pethybridge will conclude her fall season alongside teammate Iva Zelic next weekend at the ITA Fall National Championships in San Diego. The duo qualified after making the finals of the ITA Northwest Regionals in doubles.
