SAN MATEO, Calif--- The West Coast Conference released their 2022 Beach Volleyball Preseason Poll on Friday afternoon, with sixth-ranked Loyola Marymount slated in the top spot for the third year in a row. Portland was selected to finish seventh.
 
Back-to-back WCC champion LMU collected 36 points and six first-place votes, while 16th-ranked Pepperdine was second with one first-place vote and 31 points. Saint Mary's was third with 26 points and was followed by Santa Clara (21 points), Pacific (13), San Francisco (12), and Portland (8).
 
The Pilots have already reached new program heights during their 2022 campaign, recording the most team wins in a single season in school history, as well as registering back-to-back conference sweeps for the first time ever at the WCC Mid-Season Invitational only a few weeks ago—defeating both Pacific and San Francisco at Santa Cruz Beach.
 
Charity Bradley leads Portland in dual victories this year with 10, Sophie Lee and Taylor Helle are tied for second with nine apiece, and Noelani Helm and Grace Zilbert both sit in third with eight each.
 
The Pilots are set to open the Husky Invitational tomorrow morning, Saturday, April 16 against tournament hosts (RV) Washington at 10 a.m. at Alki Beach, followed by matches against No. 8 Hawai'i and Oregon later in the afternoon.
