Box Score SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The Portland women's tennis team was dominant in doubles, but came up short overall against the San Francisco Dons Saturday at Golden Gate Park. The Pilots drop to 6-9 overall and 1-3 in West Coast Conference play, while the Dons improve to 10-6 and 3-2 in WCC matches.

Portland took the doubles in convincing fashion as Sally Pethybridge and Rimona Rouf raced to a 6-1 win at the No. 1 position. The Pilot duo of Iva Zelic and Angela Schuster secured the point with a 6-2 win at No. 2, while Aleksandra Dimitrijevic and Neli Sunjic had a 5-2 lead at No. 3 when play was stopped.

Singles favored the Dons as San Francisco secured straight set wins at the No. 2, No. 3, No. 4 and No. 6 positions.

Zelic was heading to a third set at No. 1 singles against Maria Martinez Vaquero when play concluded, while Dimitrijevic was up a set trailing 5-2 in the second at the No. 5 position for the Pilots.

Portland will now return home host a pair of nationally-ranked opponents next weekend. The Pilots welcome No. 20 Loyola Marymount on Friday and then No. 5 Pepperdine on Saturday with both matches set for 10 a.m. starts. All Pilot home matches will have live video and scoring at PortlandPilots.com.
