MADISON, Wis. -- Danny Abdala was the Pilot's top finisher at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational, finishing 95th overall (24:21.5). Abdala passed more athletes during the race than any other Pilot, totaling 97 athletes from his first split at 2,000 meters to the finish. His finish helped lead the Pilots to a 30th place finish, ahead of No. 27 NC State and three other teams receiving national ranking votes. 
 
Following Abdala, Jona Bodirsky had another strong race with a 99th place finish (24:22.0). Bodirsky was followed by Jonas Gertsen in 131st (24:34.2), Thomas Chaston in 163rd (24:47.5) and Nate Lantz in 180th (24:53.4) to round out the Pilots scoring members. Matt Strangio (188th, 24:57.1), Nolan Hosbein (240th, 25:25.6) and Teddy Buckley (264th, 26:07.9) also finished the race for the Pilots. 
 
The men will race again tomorrow, Saturday, Oct. 14 at the George Oja Linfield Invitational in Liberty, Ore. The men's 8K is set for a 10:45 a.m. start. For more coverage and info, visit PortlandPilots.com.
