Box Score STANFORD, Calif. – Portland sophomore Alaia Rubio Perez made a run to the Round of 16 as the Pilots concluded competition on Saturday at the ITA Northwest Regional Championships held at Taube Family Tennis Center.

Rubio Perez defeated Sacramento State's Weronika Ejsmont in three sets before knocking off Scarlett Perkins of Portland State in straight sets on Friday. She then beat Stanford's Chidimma Okpara 6-4, 7-6 on Saturday and pushed Cal's Berta Passola Folch to three sets before cramping and losing 6-2, 4-6, 6-0.

It marked the highlight for Portland which had senior Rimona Rouf and junior Sally Pethybridge also reach the Round of 32. The Pilots capped the tournament with a 10-8 combined record in singles and a pair of doubles wins.

The fall season continues at the Gonzaga Invitational on Oct. 27-29.
