NORTHRIDGE, Calif. – Portland women's tennis secured four more singles victories and won all three doubles matches on Sunday at the CSUN Fall Invitational at the Matador Tennis Complex. It marked the final competition of the 2023 fall season for the Pilots.

The mock dual format pitted the Pilots primarily against UC Irvine in singles with Iva Zelic, Sally Pethybridge, Alaia Rubio Perez and Meagan Pearson winning singles matches.

Zelic, Rubio Perez and Pearson each completed the weekend a perfect 3-0 in singles matches.

The Pilots also swept all three doubles matches against pairs from Youngstown State.

"This was a great event for our team because we were forced to be uncomfortable all weekend and in almost every match," Portland head coach Filip Zivkovic said. "These Southern California teams play a very gritty brand of tennis and we had to respond with patience and discipline. Our team played more three set matches this weekend than we did in all the other Fall events combined and we managed to come out on top more often than not. I am very proud of the growth, fight and grit that this group showed this weekend to close out the Fall season. We will turn our attention to individual improvements that we need to make in order to carry this momentum into the Spring season. Go Pilots!"

The Pilots will take a break before preparing for the start of the spring dual season which begins Saturday, Jan. 20 at Seattle U.
