THIS WEEK
• The Pilots will compete in the West Coast Challenge at Main Beach in Santa Cruz, Calif.
• The Pilots will face off against St. Mary's for the second time this season.
• The Pilots' second and third opponents will depend on bracket placements following the first match.

ABOUT THE PILOTS
• Megan Burton steps into her second year as the head coach of the Pilots beach volley- ball program, with Dylan Hamilton also returning for the 2023 season.
• The Pilots return seven from last year's roster in Bradley, Helle, Helm, Lee, Mumolo, Stammberger and Zilbert.
• The beach volleyball program welcomes two new freshmen to their roster including Brodie Baker and Michela Strati.
• Portland added one transfer student to the program, Junior Alina Valenti from West Valley College.
• Jordan Bardouche, Marleena Catalan, Larkin Chock, Elin Larsson and Maui Robins are returning from the Pilot's indoor roster.
• The Pilots return two All-WCC Second Team honorees, Noelani Helm and Grace Zilbert.
LAST SEASON
• Portland finished the year 7-17 in duals competitions during the 2022 season.
• The Pilots defeated Corban, Bushnell, San Francisco and Pacific throughout the season, ending their season with a final win against the Dons at the WCC Championships on April 29th, 2022.
• The Pilots faced Oregon and Washington on multiple occasions, as well as matchups against No. 5 LMU and No. 8 Hawaii.
LOOKING AHEAD
• Portland will begin conference play at the West Coast Challenge in Santa Cruz, Calif. on Mar. 25-26th.
• The team will meet for the Alki Beach Invitational in Seattle, Wash. on Apr. 15-16th.
• The Pilots will play against Corban University on Apr. 17th in Salem, Ore.
• Portland will travel to Eugene, Ore. to take on University of Oregon on Apr. 20th.
• West Coast Conference play kicks off on Apr. 28-29th in Santa Monica.
ABOUT THE OPPONENT(S)
• St. Mary's sitting at 6-9 (3-0 WCC) for the 2023 Beach Volleyball season.
• St. Mary's finished up their 2022 season with an overall record of 16-18 (9-3 WCC).
• The Gaels defeated the Dons in the WCC Championships before suffering close losses to No. 16 Pepperdine and Santa Clara.
• St. Mary's took down the University of Utah Utes (3-2) in their home opener, but ultimately fell to UC Davis afterward (2-3).
• The Pilots' second and third opponents will be based on both their results, as well as the results of the other teams in the bracket.
